Is it catastrophic? Could it change something?

People ask what “catastrophic cases only” means, and they deserve a real answer instead of a slogan. Here are the five questions Rodney actually asks — run them yourself before you ever text anyone.

Test 1 — Permanence

Does it change the rest of a life?

A wrecked car is a claim; a wrecked spine is a catastrophe. Death, permanent disability, a survivor carrying what was done to them — the law's job is to make the responsible party carry the permanent part.

Test 2 — Ongoing Harm

If nothing changes, does it happen again?

Contaminated water keeps pouring. A dangerous product stays on the shelf. When the answer is yes, the case is bigger than its verdict.

Test 3 — Proof

Does the evidence live in things that can be tested?

Lab results, records, labels, documents — rather than only what people remember. A well test doesn't get nervous on cross-examination.

Test 4 — Accountability

Is there someone identifiable and solvent?

Tragedy without a defendant is grief, and grief deserves compassion, not a retainer. Rodney will tell you honestly which one you have.

Test 5 — Echo

Would winning change anything beyond it?

A practice ended, a precedent set, a warning finally printed. Not every case echoes — but when one does, it's taken for less, sometimes almost nothing.

What to bring to a free consultation

Dates. Documents. Test results if you have them, and don't panic if you don't. The product, the label, the letter, the photos. Names of who knew what, and when. And bring the thing you're afraid is true — that's usually where the case is.
